The alkaline diet came to fame four years ago when Natasha launched her hugely popular Honestly Healthy cookbook, website and meal delivery service based on the alkaline eating principles.
How does the alkaline diet work? It aims to keep the body’s pH between 7.35 and 7.45 to create harmony and reduce the strain on the body’s digestive system. How? By avoiding “acid forming foods” such as dairy, meat, sugar and coffee and replacing them with plant foods and wholegrains.
